The CHUMuseum
CHUM Building
Five years ago, a couple of Canadian radio's best creative minds got together to preserve the history and memories that were 1050 CHUM. Over the last few years, with the support of Jim Waters, Bob Laine and Doug Thompson have developed the CHUM Collection, including a complete set of CHUM charts, airchecks of the '60s and '70s D.J.s, and pictures of CHUM veterans. One day the CHUM Collection will be on display for all to see through the Museum of Canadian Broadcasting. This way, we can fulfill Allan Waters' motto…“1050 CHUM Forever”.

Laddie Dennis
Laddie Dennis
The CBMF/FMCR was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Laddie Dennis on February 22, 2009. The first woman to appear on Canadian television, Laddie Dennis had a remarkable acting career spanning two decades and four media – radio, television, film and stage. She was also a well known travel writer and photographer for 30 years, travelling to over 80 countries. Laddie had donated a number of artefacts to the Foundation, including photographs and recordings of her radio and television appearances. A woman of remarkable wit and vitality, Laddie will be very much missed.

Meet Our Board
Bob Laine, Secretary
Bob Laine
Bob Laine has had a long and distinguished career in radio. Joining CHUM in 1958, he was a popular on–air personality before entering management at the age of 32. He founded the CHUM radio network, and was truly touched when Thursday October 30, 2003 was named Bob Laine Day at 1050 CHUM in honour of his retirement. Heavily involved in the 50th Anniversary of CHUM, Bob Laine has also co–founded the CHUMuseum.

From Our Vaults
The Michael Maclear Fonds
Michael Maclear young and old pictures and Vietnam
Michael Maclear: foreign correspondent, Canadian journalist, and documentary filmmaker. His career demonstrates the breadth of Canadian broadcasting. He has worked in Canada and abroad as a foreign correspondent in both public and private broadcasting; as a writer and producer in both television and radio and also as an independent producer. In addition, he has reported on some truly significant events, recording the first interviews with American POWs in North Vietnam in 1970; the death of Ho Chi Minh in 1969; Fidel Castro's takeover of Cuba and the Soviet Union's invasion of Czechoslovakia among others. A strong supporter of the CBMF/FMCR, Maclear has donated a wealth of artefacts that form the Michael Maclear fonds.
